Your business, on a server you own.

MeshVault sets up a server you own, pairs Hermes Desktop and an iPhone app to it, and keeps a backup that we have tested.

Three parts, one job each. Your server comes first.

  1. iPhone app

For quick questions and approvals. It is pre-release: TestFlight by invite, no App Store listing, no release date.

  2. Hermes Desktop

The program you use on your computer to talk to the server. It is open-source software from Nous Research. We install it, pin its version so it does not change without a decision, and pair it to your server.

  3. Your server

A computer that stays on and holds your shared files and records. You own it. It sits in your office or home.

    Backup

A second copy of your data, kept apart from the first. It counts only after a restore test.

Connectors come later. A connector is a link from one of your own accounts, such as email or a calendar, into the server. They start read-only, and we add them one at a time.

Server first, AI second. One approved job at a time. Files, records and backups come before any AI.

Five days in your office: the one-week install.

You sign acceptance only after the restore test passes, with you watching.

  1. Day 1 network checked

We check your room, power and network, and confirm your list of data: what you have and where it lives.

  2. Day 2 versions pinned

We install the server software and the desktop app, then pin their versions. Pinning locks a version in place so it does not change without a decision.

  3. Day 3 files copied in

We copy your files in and set up backups. We copy before we move anything, and we delete nothing of yours.

  4. Day 4 restore tested

We run the restore test with you watching. We pick a few files and one record, delete a copy in a test folder, bring them back from backup, then open them and check they are right.

  5. Day 5 phone paired

We pair your devices to the server and try your first approved job. Pairing links your computer and phone to the server so they can reach it.

  6. Acceptance signed

You get a handover record: what was installed, who owns each account and where the backup lives. You sign acceptance only after you have seen the restore test pass.

Plan my one-week install

Requote before use. The exact days depend on your office; this is the usual shape, and your written quote governs. Hardware, taxes and work after the week are not included.

The agent drafts. A named person says yes.

  1. Drafted byThe agent

It prepares the email, the payment, the post or the access change. A draft is not an action.

  2. Approved byA named person

Sends, payments, posts and access changes each need a yes from someone at your business with a name.

  3. Deleted byA person, never an agent

Deleting old copies is your decision, and it comes later, only after the restore test.

Approvals lower risk. They do not remove it. How approvals work. Sample approval gate (illustration, sample data).

Local AI runs on your server. A job leaves for four stated reasons only.

Reasons you allow
Written route Runs on your server. May go outside only when a named person tells it to.

You choose which reasons are allowed, and which outside service may receive a job. You can allow none. Some clients choose to allow only reason 4.

Each job gets a written route: where it runs and where it may go. Ask to see the route before you approve the job.

Some things can still go outside by their nature. A connector may reach an outside app, and email is one example. Support access goes outside too, if you grant it.

Our view: a plain list of what can leave is more useful than a promise that nothing does.

Where we stand today: you would be an early client.

You get direct access to the one person who builds your setup. You also carry the risk that comes with a young company and a pre-release app.

Our view: if that risk is too high for you today, wait. We would rather lose a sale than surprise you.

Questions

What is MeshVault?

MeshVault sets up a server you own, pairs Hermes Desktop and an iPhone app to it, and keeps a backup that we have tested. Server first, AI second. One approved job at a time.

Who is it for?

Owner-run businesses of 5 to 50 people with no IT staff, whose data is spread across email, shared drives, phones and apps. We decline healthcare, legal and financial-advice clients for now. It is not a fit for solo one-laptop shops or anyone who needs round-the-clock support.

Is there a Mac app?

No. There is no Mac app and no Mac waitlist. Hermes Desktop, open-source software from Nous Research, runs on your computer. The MeshVault iPhone app is pre-release, TestFlight by invite, with no release date. Join the iPhone waitlist.

Does anything leave my office?

It can. Local AI runs on your server, and a job may go outside for four stated reasons only, the ones you allow. You can allow none. Connectors such as email reach outside apps by their nature, and support access goes outside if you grant it. See what can leave.

What does the one-week install cost?

$1,500 as of 2026-09-29, requote before use. Hardware, taxes and any work after the week are not included. Ask for the quote in writing and check that it names the server, the backup and the tests.

Is owning cheaper than renting?

Not always. Renting can cost less. Owning buys control, export and a clean exit, not a cheaper year one.

What happens if I leave?

You keep the hardware, files, and memory. The handover record lists what was installed, who owns each account and where the backup lives.
