Which Mac? A Mac mini or desktop that stays plugged in is best, since it can keep working while you are out. A laptop is fine too. Keep it awake and on power, and flip on Personal Hotspot before you leave if you want Mesh reachable over 4G/5G. By default it stays on encrypted Wi-Fi only.
