What to gather before setup

Before setup, gather four things: the people who say yes, a list of where your data lives, a spot for the server, and a rough size of your files. Fill in what you know, leave blanks for us to help with, and never write a password on the page.

The people

A little preparation saves days. Three roles matter.

Three names

Nothing you type here is saved or sent. Print the page to keep a copy.

The first two are your approver and backup approver. Read why a named person says yes.

Where your data lives today

Tick each one you use. Note the service name, or how many, next to it.

Places my data lives

The place

The place

Not sure which spot? Read where the server sits in your office.

Rough size of your files

A guess is fine. Write it in gigabytes (GB). If you do not know, write a question mark.

Accounts stay in your name

Bring the login names of the accounts we will work with. We will not ask you to read a password out loud or send one by message. If we need a sign-in, we set it up together on screen.

If you are unsure about any line, write a question mark. We will sort it out on day one.

What to do next

Bring this list to the first call. On the first call nobody is asked to sign anything. We listen first.

The one-week install costs $1,500 as of . Requote before use. It may not cover hardware, taxes or any work after the week. Ask for the quote in writing (book page 035).
