What the app does.

Hermes keeps your tools, memory and schedules on your own hardware. The app puts them on your phone.

Streaming chat
Replies appear as they are written, with tool runs, attachments and slash commands. A run keeps going if you lock the phone.
Ask before it acts
When the agent wants to run a command, you see it first. Allow once, allow for the chat, or deny.
Today briefings
Scheduled tasks on your gateway land on a Today screen: the morning brief, what needs attention, and your quick actions.
Several agents
Add more than one gateway, or more than one Hermes profile on the same gateway, and switch between them.
On-device model
No gateway nearby? Download an open-source model once and chat on the phone. The model files come from Hugging Face.
Keys and lock
No account and no analytics. Gateway keys are kept in the iPhone Keychain. Face ID can lock the app.

Connect it to your gateway.

  1. Turn on the API server.

    In your Hermes gateway, enable gateway.api_server and set API_SERVER_KEY.

  2. Add the gateway.

    In the app, tap Add gateway, then enter its address and key. Test connection checks it before you save.

  3. Start a chat.

    Pick a quick action or type a question. The agent answers from your own hardware.

If MeshVault installed your setup, we pair the phone with you present, and you check that an unpaired phone is refused. Never share a pairing code by text message.

How the app will be priced.

Not on sale
The app is not on the App Store, so nothing is for sale today. The plan for a release build: a free tier, and one in-app purchase called Unlock. The price will be shown in the App Store.

Where this stands.

The iPhone app is pre-release. It is on TestFlight by invite only, with no App Store listing and no release date. There is no Mac app and no Mac waitlist. Hermes Desktop is open-source software from Nous Research. MeshVault installs, pins and pairs it. It is not MeshVault software.
